PUBLIC NOTICE FISCAL YEAR 2022 ANNUAL PLAN SIGNIFICANT AMENDMENTS

Notice is given that the Newark Housing Authority (NHA) will conduct a public hearing for significant amendments to the 2022 Annual Plan to include a modification to the Administrative Plan Policy for the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program.

As part of our ongoing redevelopment plan for George Read Village, NHA expects the need to project base more than 20% of our HCV program. Per Attachment D of the “Implementation Guidance: Housing Opportunity Through Modernization Act of 2016 (HOTMA) — Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) and Project-Based Voucher (PBV) Provisions”, NHA expects to qualify for an additional 10% of authorized units that will accommodate our redevelopment plans. That plan includes 36 PBVs that are designated for elderly persons, where supportive services will be provided.

A copy of the amendments to the Plan will be available for inspection and review at NHA’s office located at 313 E. Main Street, Newark, Delaware during normal business hours, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, beginning Friday, May 6, 2023, by appointment only. The amendments will also be available on the NHA website, newarkhousingauthority.net. beginning Friday, May 6, 2023. The comment period will end on Friday, June 23, 2023. A Public Hearing will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at the Newark Housing Authority.
